What is the Dominican lifestyle like?
The Dominican people are extremely friendly and welcome tourists and visitors as well as new neightbors. Previously an agricultural economy, there are an increasing number of new industries and many free port zones for export products. Most retail businesses are openfrom 9-6 pm, Monday through Saturday, though some of them close between noon and three. Many items are available at prices much lower than in North America. A full time maid can be hired for as little as $100.00 per week (5 1/2 days).
