What is the districts policy on Alcohol and other substance use/abuse?
The Board of Education of the PeIham Union Free School District recognizes its responsibility to ensure the safety and well being of its students by promoting healthy life choices. The District is committed to working towards the prevention of alcohol and substance use/abuse. To this end, the District provides Instructional programs, guidance and counseling assistance as well as collaboration with community groups and parents. At no time may any student be under the influence of, possess, use, sell or exchange alcohol or other illegal substances. Substances may not be used on District property or in District vehicles or at school sponsored or related events whether on District property or off. Further, criminal charges will be pursued to the fullest extent possible against persons including but not limited to, students who sell, exchange, give or who offer or agree to sell, exchange, or give any controlled substance or alcohol to another.
