The current student population in the Stone Oak and Mayfield Ranch subdivisions should fill this school the day it opens. RRISD has been reducing bus routes because of the costs of transportation. How does it make sense to take children west of IH 35, who are very near to Walsh Middle School and bus them all the way to Hopewell? Two options consider balancing student enrollment between campuses. Crossing I 35 to balance schools is presented in options B & C. Due to busing and having to cross Red Bud Lane just to be able to catch the bus, why not also include the Wedge taken from directly west of Red Bud that currently attends Forest Creek and place them at Blackland Prairie? The current situation is a safety risk, just simply waiting for the bus (40 mph road with many blind spots). With the 400 home sites at Silver Leaf set to attend Forest Creek, there needs to be room to grow on an already small campus. Option A presents a solution to reduce both Forest Creek and Blackland Prairie. T
