What is the distinction between Motion and Movement, Oscillation and Vibration?
Motion is intrinsic or internal while movement is extrinsic or external. An example is the motion of a clock in the cockpit of a plane that is traveling from one location to another. Oscillation and Vibration are often used interchangeably yet they are not identical. An example is the wobbling of planet earth as it makes its journey around our sun. Since these terms have been used interchangeably it is more effective to speak of the distinction as motion and movement. In the example of planet earth wobbling as it rotates around our sun its wobbling is its intrinsic motion and its journey around our sun is its extrinsic movement. Another example is your intrinsic activities like breathing and thinking while you are walking or engaged in other mobile activities. In a certain way this also applies to emotion as intrinsic motion and your actions as extrinsic movements.
