What is the distance between Anaheim and Hearst Castle?
About 400 miles. If you are going to Hearst better get there soon I read in the paper it was one of the places they were closing because of the budget problems. Coming from LA to the central coast the best route would be to take I 5 north to the 41 cut off at Kettleman then over to Paso Robles, take 101 South to the Cambria exit and then follow it up to the castle. Good camping at Pismo Beach, further south, and good clam chowder at the Splash in Pismo. Cambria has good food and shops as well. There is a store with a deli in the first half of the town that sells sandwiches to order that are really good. Great seafood at the Treasure Chest on Moonstone beach and Moonstone has some nice B & B’s.
