What is the Disability Discrimination Act?

0

Since December 2005, everybody with MS is covered by the Disability Discrimination Act from the point of diagnosis. The law places a duty on employers to put into place reasonable adjustments that a disabled person may request if any aspect of their working arrangements, or the building or place of work, make it more difficult for them, than a non-disabled person, to do their job. Many adjustments requested by people with MS will be inexpensive (or cost nothing at all) and cause minimal disruption. The Access to Work programme may assist you with financial and practical support for such adjustments.
