All Rotan pumps work equally well in both directions, and pumping direction is determined by the driver’s direction of rotation. Seen from the pumpshaft end, clockwise rotation will pump from right to left and vice versa. If fitted, the relief valve should be oriented, so the part containing the spring is on the suction side.
