What is the diffrence between Staphylococcus aureus and yeast infection?

Hi, Staph aureus is a bacteria which lives on the skin or up the nose; Staph means bunch and coccus means the bacteria are round. Under the microscope they look like bunches of grapes As the bacteria are found on skin & up the nose, they normally aren’t a problem. Trouble is, if you get them in a cut, then the cut can get infected and will become very sore. You should seak medical attention ASAP because you could end up with an abcess! You’ll probably need anti-biotics, but as you’re breast feeding you should let your doc know (if he/she doesn’t already) so you get anti-biotics which will be ok for your baby. You might have to stop breast feeding until after the course of anti-biotics (but I’m not sure about that); if you want to continue afterwards, you might want to invest in a decent breast pump. If you’re in the UK, contact your local National Childbirth Trust breast feeding consultant, they hire out the most efficient breast pumps on a daily basis, so you wouldn’t need to buy one.
