Plastic Surgery in the true sense of the word is that surgery performed by plastic surgeons. Plastic surgery can further be divided into cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery. The difficulty in the question is that alot of non-plastic surgeons advertise that they are “cosmetic surgeons”. Only plastic surgeons are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons.
