What is the different between LAN and WAN?
That first answer is wrong – Wireless Lan is usually abbreviated to WLAN not WAN. A Wide Area Network is a network that is geographically spread, with routers and possibly low-speed (or lower than ethernet) links in between. For example, a company with offices in London, New York and Hong Kong might have a WAN. Each of the offices would have its own LAN, with the offices connected (e.g. by a VPN over the public internet) to form the WAN. Hope that makes sense.
