What is the different about demineralized water and distilled water?
i know there’s healthrisks involved in drinking demineralized water http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_heal… Demineralized water is the water that has been purified by passage through a bed of ion-exchange resin which removes mineral salts; as pure as distilled water. Purified water is water from any source that is physically processed to remove impurities. Distilled water and deionized water have been the most common forms of purified water, but water can also be purified by other processes including reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, microporous filtration, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet oxidation, or electrodialysis.
Distilled water is boiled and then condensed again, removing non-volatile substances and dissolved solids. It can leave ions behind. Demineralised water is passed through an ion exchanger, removing ionic components. It removes more dissolved material but does not remove nonionic contaminants, such as most organics.
