What is the difference with front and top loader laundry detergents?

0

HE (high efficiency) detergents contain less surfactants which lower the surface tension of the water and cause sudsing. Front loading machines need low sudsing (or HE) detergents because lots of suds can damage the machine. HE washers use MUCH less water than regular washers. HE laundry detergent is formulated to clean well in much less water. Usage of non-HE laundry detergent often voids the warranties on HE washing machines. You can read about the differences between regular and HE (high-efficiency) detergents at the link below. I have an HE toploader washer (Maytag Bravos). I love my washing machine! It holds a huge amount of laundry and does a great job too.
