WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN TYPE 1 AND TYPE 2 DIABETES?
Diabetes is classified into two main types: Type 1 and Type 2. With Type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Type 1 is usually diagnosed in children and used to be commonly known as juvenile diabetes. However, Type 1 diabetes can occur at any age. Children with Type 1 diabetes are usually not overweight and may have lost weight prior to diagnosis. Insulin injections must be taken daily.
