What is the difference in the 40hr Hazwoper and 24 hr Hazwoper course?
A supervisor who isn’t actually handling the hazardous waste would generally take the 24 hour hazwoper course. In addition there is a one-day required jobsite training. Someone actually handling hazardous waste will generally need the 40 hour Hazwoper course. For people taking the 40-hour course, there is an additional 3-day jobsite training and an additional 8-hour hands-on classroom training that must be taken in person. The advantage of the 40-hr online course is that the student needs to spend only 8 hours in the classroom instead of 48 hours.
