What is the difference in Scool Moves and Brain Gym?

0

Both programs work well together. S’cool Moves uses a few movements that Brain Gym uses like the Figure 8, Pretzels (Hook-Ups), Cross Crawls, and Listening Ears (Thinking Caps). These movements are found in a variety of literature and date back to being used in the early 1950’s well before S’cool Moves or Brain Gym were developed. S’cool Moves focuses on the behavior-learning connection, rather than the movement-learning connection. Deep pressure, heavy work, core postural strengthening, transition activities, theory, and linear presentation are not common to Brain Gym. Brain Gym’s approach is much more intuitive, left to individuals to decide what movements are best and includes an experiential approach. Participants who take both S’cool Moves and Brain Gym classes will see few parallels as far as material covered in the class. S’cool Moves is respectful of Brain Gym’s approach and does not use their balancing or noticing methods in our workshops.
