Pure oxygen will have a 100% partial pressure, or in the blood it’ll be approx 713 mmHg (taking into account 47mmhg water saturation), this will be detected by the chemo receptors in the carotid bodies which are oxygen sensitive, These will then surpress breathing, The pCO2 will have little effect, because even though breathing less should mean you exhale less (thus CO2 builds up, the Haladane effect and Bohr effect caused by the increase in the blood pO2, will mean u expell more CO2 per breath, also it mean less CO2 will exist as H+ ions, which is what is also detected by chemoreceptors to increase breathing.
