What is the difference in functionality between Pro Tools HD 9 software and Pro Tools 9 software with the added Complete Production Toolkit 2 option?
From a software standpoint, there are no feature/functional differences between Pro Tools HD 9 software and Pro Tools 9 with the added Complete Production Toolkit 2 option. There are, of course, differences when the PT HD 9 software is used with Pro Tools Native or Pro Tools|HD hardware, but these are due to the hardware capability, not the software. (Note that if you have Pro Tools|HD or Native hardware, you must use Pro Tools HD 9 software, not Pro Tools 9 software. But once you have the Pro Tools HD 9 software, you can run it with Avid hardware or third-party interfaces, or you can run it standalone, just as you can with Pro Tools 9.) There are additional hardware benefits that result from the HD Native and HD hardware beyond what PT9 or PT9 + Complete Production Toolkit 2 can offer by themselves. Using the HD or HD Native hardware is still the most powerful option with Pro Tools 9, versus using the software with other interfaces. Third-party interfaces or running standalone will wo
