What is the difference in enclosed and open carrier service?
The enclosed carrier puts the vehicle within a van to avoid weather, road hazards, vandals, etc. The drivers of enclosed carriers usually use wheel strap as opposed to tie down frame, and are very tuned in to low clearances and special requirements of the higher priced vehicles, vintage, exotic, and classic. The trucks usually carry fewer cars than open carriers and spend more time in loading and thus charge more for the move. The open carriers are the ones that you see going down the road all the time. This is the way most cars are moved.
