What is the difference in a straight voltage rating and a slash rating?
1. A circuit breaker with a straight voltage marking e.g. 480V or 600V, maybe applied in a circuit where the nominal voltage between any two conductors does not exceed the circuit breakers ratings. 2. A circuit breaker with a slash rating e.g. 480Y/277V or 600Y/347V, may be applied in a circuit where the nominal voltage to ground from any conductor does not exceed the lower of the two values of the circuit breaker voltage rating, and the nominal voltage between any two conductors does not exceed the higher value of the circuit breaker’s voltage rating. • Q: I cannot mount the ABB Flange Handle on my Hoffman enclosure.
