What is the difference bewteen a bird sanctuary and an aviary?
A bird aviary is a large enclosure designed for housing birds. Unlike cages, aviaries provide birds with enough room to fly around (they are sometimes called flight cages). Aviaries are used in zoo exhibits and by bird owners alike. A bird sanctuary describes a designation given to a piece of land. Bird sanctuaries tend to be pristine natural areas that provide birds with their ideal habitat. Generally, the distinction of bird sanctuary restricts certain types of land usage and development. Bird sanctuaries also tend to have walking paths and information centers/kiosks to provide visitors with information regarding the local wildlife. Hope this helps!
