What is the difference between WINE and Transgamings Cedega?
Transgaming has improved the DirectX support in their fork of the WINE source, and called it Cedega. The improvements cannot be added to the original WINE project because of the license Transgaming has chosen to place on their code, improvements made in the original WINE are sometimes merged into the Transgaming’s Cedega. Transgaming has said they will change their licensing once they get 20,000 paying subscribers. However, they appear to have recently removed any mention of this from their website.
