What is the difference between Windows XP and Windows Vista?

Windows XP works and Windows Vista is full of problems. Many people and corporations, including tech companies, got tired of fighting with Vista and rolled back to XP.

I use Linux whenever possible but if you wanted more details, here are some major changes in Vista. -file system: different file system entirely + foldering layout (what this means to you is you’ll have to get used to where My Documents has moved to for example and it will use more space on your drive – you still have to defrag though… stupid stupid stupid) -TCPIP stack: the stack was completely revamped for supposed better performance and security and IPv6 support (what this should mean to you is better performance from network capable applications and supposedly more security even though this is looking more like a joke from what I’ve read) -security: by default, you’ll get nagged to death for every damn thing you want to do – opening windows, installing programs etc…

Not much of a difference other than looks. I read an article yesterday that said there was not much of a difference in the four versions of Vista to say that it is better than XP. The article went on to say that it may be better to stay with XP until they work the bugs out of Vista.

For starters you can display your desktop and folders in 3D on vista and Vista is the latest edition in the Windows Series

I think the difference between the 2 in a simple explanation was Vista is the upgraded of XP. Since we are more familiar with XP people are afraid of upgrading it so they don’t need to familiarize themselves to Vista. It’s all the same. I am using Vista now and i can’t see any difference.Just click and right click. Don;t be afraid@ You will learn from clicking and clicking rather than reading all these manuals. I only rread the manuals for those cable connections or problems. But other than that i just click and right click. That’s my secret that’s why i learned! Try it! Not too confusing too!
