What is the difference between Wheat Gluten-Free and Gluten-Free?

0

Gluten is a protein fraction found in wheat, barley, maize and rye. It is dominant in wheat and wheat gluten is the major issue in pet intolerance. A separate protein fraction of gluten appears in barley, maize and rye but this is not as prevalent or doesn’t appear to cause as many issues with pets as wheat does. The majority of products therefore declare wheat gluten free as there is no wheat in there but cannot guarantee gluten free if they have other cereals in there.
