What is the difference between Western Red Cedar and Poly Wood?
Great question. The difference is this. Western red Cedar(WRC) is wood, sustainably harvested in Oregon. Cedar is the ideal wood for outdoor furniture. It is a natural product, and some folks just prefer a natural product. if it is painted or finished with a stain or wood oil or other finish, in time you will need to redo the finish, paint or stain. It can also be left to turn to its natural grey patina without any extra applications, which many people find very appealing. While cedar is naturally rot and pest resistant, it does requre some care. All of our cedar is assembled with waterproof glue and stainless steel fasteners, so rust is not an issue as it would be with most any other fasteners. Now the recycled plastic will absolutely not rot, rust, split, warp and it is impervious to water. The color goes throughout the product so color does not fade.
