What is the difference between welt and direct injection shoe construction?
Shoe construction is the process by which the shoe is manufactured or assembled. Welt is basically with stitches. The processed outsole is cemented and then heavily stitched to the leather uppers. This process makes the shoe doubly durable for industrial purposes. Types of welts maybe Goodyear welt or Norwegian Welt. Direct injection involves rubber being injected to the outsole molds with the leather uppers adhering to the outsole as the rubber cools and hardens.
