What is the difference between VGA and DVI?

0

VGA is analog and DVI is digital. Because the signal coming from the graphics card is digital, in order to send that signal over a VGA interface, it must be converted to analog then back to digital. Conversion can often times degrade the signal and introduce signal noise that can impact image clarity or focus. With DVI the digital signal from the graphics card remains in its original format with no conversion maintaining the integrity of the image. This ensures a crisp clear image. So for best front of screen performance DVI is the optimal interface.
