What is the difference between UVA and UVB light?
UVA light is the longer ray or the TANNING RAY. UVB is the shorter ray or the BURNING RAY. Both are necessary for the skin to tan. UVA is the ray that actually tans the pigment, melanin, and UVB stimulates the production of melanin in your skin. The tanning units have a manufactured amount of both UVA and UVB to give you a dark tan, while minimizing your chances of burning.
