What is the difference between using blackout lining and premium lining?
The difference is small, but blackout lining pulls the valance taut and gives it a flatter surface and strength. Premium lining gives the valance a more casual, free-flowing look. Can this valance be made with another trim? It can only be made with the pre-approved trims that are offered under product options. Valances with sharply scalloped seams such as this one are very difficult to sew and require great expertise. For that reason, only select trims are available. What kind of curtain rod do I need for this valance? It depends on whether you choose a valance with or without a return. Valances without a return will work with a decorative pole up to 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Valances with a return require a 2 1/2-inch wide continental rod with a projection equal to the chosen return.
