What is the difference between using a zero and a blank (no response) in a Planning Schedule?
A supplier may indicate a zero when they cannot meet the demand; where as a blank may leave the buyer guessing as to whether the supplier just missed seeing the demand. Another example would be where a buyer changes a demand from some number to zero, thus letting the supplier know there is a change; where as a blank may leave the supplier wondering why they made a commitment when there seems to be no demand.
