They are two techniques of IC packing. TSOP is the most common packing skill in the market. More than 90 percent of IC has been packed in TSOP. However, WSOP, which is far thinner than TSOP is a much advanced technology. The size of a WSOP-pack Flash memory is 12mm*17mm*0.7mm, around only 42 percent of traditional type of packing. This technology was first developed by Samsung, and has been viewed as the leading skill of Flash Memory Packing in the future.
