What is the difference between trust administration and probate?

0

Trust administration is the process of serving as successor trustee of a decedent’s trust, managing the trust as a fiduciary for the benefit of the beneficiaries, following all the guidelines set forth within the trust and doing all of this within the laws of the state originating the trust. Trust administration is completed outside of the supervision of the probate court, but the trustee can be held personally liable if their actions create damage or loss within the trust and eventually to the beneficiaries of the trust.
