What is the difference between Trigun and Trigun Maximum?
The only real difference is the publishing company. Nightow was contacted by YKOurs to do a series for them right about the same time as Trigun Ended. He wanted to do a new story, but they wanted him to do a new Trigun Series. So he picked it back up. Trigun Maximum starts a couple of years after the events of Trigun and all of the characters got a facelift, but other than that it’s the same.
