What is the difference between TPV or EPDM and ordinary recycled rubbers?

0

FlexDeck surfaces are composed from pure EPDM or TPV. These virgin rubbers are manufactured specifically for this type of application and never with recycled rubber such as shredded tires or rubber mulch products. Recycled rubber looses it color and flexibility and deteriorates much more rapidly than our virgin products. Unfortunately, some installers try to cut costs and pad profits with the use of an inferior rubber. Often painted, coated or dyed on the surface, these rubber granules soon wear away revealing a tell tale black color and hardened texture. Later, the rubber loses it’s flexibility as it’s brittle, painted exterior begins to flake and fade.

TPV..is thermoplastic vulcanizates, it is basically dynamically vulcanize product consisting PP & EPDM. TPV’s are re processable & we can process using conventional plastic processing machinery. EPDM is thermoset rubber, we can not re process EPDM.

EPDM or ordinary recycles rubber are thermoset rubber we can not re process them where as most  beauriful point of TPV we can re process them like plastic. Production rate of TPV are much more higher almost 100 times compared to EPDM.
