What is the difference between this and an Ionizer, Oxidizer, Ozone or saltwater chlorinators?
Without getting into a detailed explanation of what Ionizers, Oxidizers and Ozone generators are, the simple answer is that no other system sanitizes water, balances pH, preserves total alkalinity and adds no hardness. There is debate about the effectiveness and efficiency of other types of systems as well as their cost effectiveness. Other systems will only benefit your pool if the water conditions are right (within a certain temperature range and pH). The benefit that they do offer (and this is where most of the debate enters) is that they offer some degree or another of sanitation to the water. The Pool Prodigy will effectively & efficiently sanitize swimming pool water, while balancing pH (something other systems don’t offer) and preserving alkalinity (again, something other systems don’t offer).
