What is the difference between these types CPUS?
These answers are semi complete. They correct in the fact that the Pentium 4 is a single core CPU, and Core 2 Duo is a dual-core, and the Core 2 Quad is a quad-core, but there are other MAJOR differences in these 3 CPU’s. The Intel Pentium 4 is a pretty old processor, which was mainstream about 5 years ago. Many people who don’t use their computers very frequently probably still have a computer with a Pentium 4 chip. The Pentium 4 is a single core processor. However, just because it’s a single core processor doesn’t mean that it is twice as slow as the Core 2 Duo, or 4 times as slow as the Core 2 Quad. It also doesn’t mean that a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad with only 1 core enabled would be as fast as the Pentium 4 (they would be much faster). The Intel Core 2 Duo uses a newer generation of CPU technology than the Pentium 4 does. Same with the Core 2 Quad. If you had 2 Pentium 4’s running simultaneously they wouldn’t be as fast as a Core 2 Duo, just because the Core 2 architecture is muc
