What is the difference between the YVC and AmeriCorps?

0

The Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC), established in 1987, is a national network of programs. At each individual YVC site age-appropriate projects, selected by students or submitted by non-profit agencies, are designed to be fun and educational. YVC supplies trained Team Leaders to supervise the Youth Volunteers on all projects. AmeriCorps is a grant that the national YVC office receives from the government that allows the placement of AmeriCorps members across the country at various YVC sites. It is basically a grant of people to do service and money to support them in their efforts (health care, living stipend, and administration costs associated with running an AmeriCorps program).
