What is the difference between the World Taekwondo Federation and the International Taekwondo Federation?
The International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) is the governing body for ITF style Taekwondo. They are concerned with rules, regulations and standards for competitions and promotions throughout the world. While the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) does practice a different style of Taekwondo, it is not synonymous to the ITF. The WTF is the sports organization concerned solely with competition Taekwondo. The WTF operates in concert with the Kukkiwon, which is the body that sets standards for promotions and generally promotes the development of their style of Taekwondo.
