What is the difference between the Vatican and the Great Pyramids of Egypt?

To wit, this is the statement that was quoted in the Irish Examiner today about the acceptance of the resignation of Bishop Murray. A statement from the Vatican on the resignation did not mention clerical abuse but said the Pope had accepted Bishop Murray’s resignation according to a clause of Canon Law that calls on bishops to quit if they cannot fulfill their duties for a “serious reason”. Without mentioning crimes like willful neglect, depraved indifference, aiding and abetting in the commission of felonies and probably breaking a host of other laws, the Vatican remains mute on the subject of accepting Murray’s resignation for the real reasons it was tendered. We must remember, of course, that the Vatican is country and that Murray is a citizen of that city-state, which has proven over and over again that they don’t abide by the civil laws of any country.
