What is the difference between the UMUC MS and MBA programs?
The UMUC MBA is a general management degree covering all functional areas of management, such as finance, marketing, management information systems, procurement and contracting, and human resource management, in addition to the general management skills, such as leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and quantitative skills. Our MBA emphasizes both entrepreneurial and technological perspectives of management as well. The MS degree in management combines general management skills with a specialty in a functional area (finance, marketing, management information systems, procurement and contracting, or human resource management), or an industry (health care or not-for-profit).
