The Ultimate Box works in conjunction with any embroidery software,or without it. PE-Design(Palette, Deco Wizard) read/write box does not work without PE Design software and vice versa. Do I have to use The Ultimate Box and The Ultimate Card as a package, or can they function separately? If you have already spent your money on a PE-Design (Palette, Deco Wizard) 4.0 read/write module, you can take full advantage of the benefits of The Ultimate Card without buying The Ultimate Box. I already own a blank card for the Amazing (Magic, Universal Embroidery Translator, Dream Maker, Bernina) Box and would like to use The Ultimate Box to write to it. Do I also have to buy The Ultimate Card? If the memory size of the blank Amazing (Magic, Universal Embroidery Translator, Dream Maker, Bernina) card satisfy your needs you can just use The Ultimate Box to write more than 6 designs to it. If you would like to have a larger card, then The Ultimate Card is the answer. I only have a USB port available
