What is the difference between the three units in Meadowbrook?
A. Assisted Living is for persons that need a little extra help with activities of daily living such as bathing, meals, and medication assistance, yet still enjoy their independence. Special Care is a unit for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias that benefit from a routine and structured environment or may require a secure unit due to wandering. Persons with dementia may have difficulty planning their day or knowing what to do next. The staff on the Special Care Unit are able to meet their unique needs, by providing mentally stimulating activities, a routine to reduce confusion and care with activities of daily living tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Skilled Care is for persons that need more assistance with their activities of daily living whether they are recuperating after a recent surgery or illness, or have a chronic condition and need more nursing care and assistance. return to top Q.
