The Tascam has XLR balanced inputs/out and RCA (unbalanced), while the Sony has just RCAs (unbalanced). The Sony has Coaxial & Optical digital inputs/outputs, while the Tascam has 2 optical inputs (one front/one rear panel). The Tascam has a keyboard connection, too.
