What is the difference between the shiro and tofu versions of the instant miso soup?

The shiro is made with soybean paste and the tofu has the same soybean paste with dehydrated tofu chunks in it. I was pretty ignorant about the difference types of miso soup when I started buying it but I’ve found a few versions that I really, really like more than others. I can go with the shiro or the tofu and eat and entire packet by myself but I do prefer to have tofu in it. If you have never had miso soup before you really don’t know what you are missing. There is seaweed in it so don’t get shocked when you add water to it and see green things in the soup mix. The broth is absolutely delicious and it is one of the few things that helps when I have a sore throat. I used to suck down chicken broth but I found this works better to help with the raw, sore feeling. Kindly ignore the three-servings-per-packet serving suggestion that is on the label of this soup packet. You won’t be able to divvy this up in to three even portions because, well, a single portion just doesn’t do anything t
