What is the difference between the Romulans and the Vulcans?
Although related (which was once a long-kept secret), Romulans are secretive, volatile, treacherous & self-serving. They are the Machiavels to the Vulcan saints. Vulcans at least pay lip-service to the pursuit of higher truth, never lie, are devoted to the greater good of the society over the individual, are philosophical and practice the strict restraint of the very strong emotions they share with the Romulans. Physically both have the dark hair & eyes & trademark pointed ears and can successfully pass for the other species in covert operations, although Romulans can have more overt, V-shaped forehead ridges. They are green-blooded, a metabolism based not on iron but on copper. Both possess strength and lifespans that far exceed that of humans. But the creativity and compassion of humans have made them ultimately equal with these better-disciplined species.
