The lead dancer from Riverdance left the show and formed Spirit of the Dance. He wanted to branch out from Celtic dances and bring in some other kinds of dances from other parts of the world (Spain, etc.) and the Riverdance people wanted to keep things traditionally Celtic. They had a parting of ways over artistic differences.
