What is the difference between The Renaissance and The Italian Renaissance?
Here is a good site http://www.learner.org/exhibits/renaissa… and check out the links for more info. The renaissance started in Florence, Italy, hundreds of years before it spread to many other parts of Europe, but everything happened at a much slower pace back then. Renaissance, meaning rebirth, was a revival of ancient Roman styles, ie Italian heritage, which is why the term is appropriate there. During ancient Roman times there were some great advancements in architecture for heating, aqueducts, plumbing, etc…. A lot of the knowledge of how to do this fell when the Roman empire fell… which led into the Middle or “dark” ages. The renaissance which started in Florence was a great coming together of minds at the time, scientists, philosophers, artists… reviving interest in ancient Rome when Italians ruled the western world. They were so influential that their influence spread to the rest of Europe
