WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PRO V1, PRO V1 X, & STAR?
In a nutshell, the difference between the original 392, Star* and X is that the original Pro V 392 is the “High Spin Control” ball out of the group and is ideal in dry conditions for drop and stop performance when you desire more byte on the greens and you don’t want your ball rolling into the fringe. The Star* is a “Mid Spin” ball and the X is a “distance” ball which is ideal in wet conditions when you need the ball to roll to the green before it comes to a screeching halt. The X also has 332 dimples vs. 392 which, does affect the aerodynamics and essentially the flight path of the ball. As a rule of thumb the less dimples generally equates to more distance. Titleist has engineered the Pro V series golf balls to match player conditions and to suit a vast majority of golfers whether you desire increased spin, distance or a combination of the two.
