The PLA-400, PLA-401 and P-660HWP support the new HomePlug AV specificaiton giving speeds up to 200 Mbps, whereas the PL-100 supports the older HomePlug 1.0 specification for speeds up to 85 Mbps. The difference between the PLA-400 and PLA-401 is just the design. The PLA400 is a desktop unit with a power cord, whereas the PLA401 is a plug top unit designed to plug directly into a standard 13 amp mains wall socket. The PL-100 is also a desktop unit with a power cord. The PLA-400, PLA-401 and P-660HWP will interoperate , but the PL-100 will not interoperate with them.
