What is the difference between the Palm operating system and Windows Mobile (also know as Pocket PC)?
Palm and Windows Mobile are two different operating systems. (This is similar to the way in which Windows and Macintosh are different operating systems.) Devices such as the Palm handhelds and the Sony CLIÉ handhelds run on the Palm OS. Devices such as Hewlett-Packard’s iPAQ run on the Windows Mobile OS. This distinction is important because software for the Palm OS will not run on Windows Mobile devices and vice versa.
