What is the difference between the old race and ethnicity categories and the new ones?

0

There are a few differences. 1. Previously, you could only select one racial category to describe yourself. Now, you can select more than one, if thats appropriate for you. 2. Hispanic is now a separate ethnicity class, and is handled separately from the other categories. If you are Hispanic, you may now select Hispanic as an ethnicity as well as selecting one (or more) racial categories to describe yourself. 3. The previous category Asian and Pacific Islander has been split into two categories, Asian and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
